YG’s TREASURE Strikes Platinum with Japan’s Record Association Certification, Surpassing 320,000 Copies
[해럴드POP=박서현 기자] YG mega group TREASURE has once again proven their explosive growth in Japan by receiving the Platinum certification from the Japan Record Association.
According to YG Entertainment on April 11th, TREASURE secured the Gold Disc Platinum certification from the local Record Association for their first original Japanese single ‘Here I Stand,’ released on March 29th.
The Gold Disc Platinum is awarded to works with more than 250,000 shipments. TREASURE’s ‘Here I Stand’ surpassed 250,000 accumulated shipments within three days of its release and recorded approximately 320,000 sales (based on YG Entertainment’s tally) in just five days.
‘Here I Stand’ is a pop-rock track featuring lyrics about never giving up on one’s dreams and a sophisticated band sound. TREASURE’s energetic vocals amplify the song’s spirited message. The song has also been chosen as the theme for the upcoming animated film ‘Black Clover: The Magic Sword,’ set to premiere in June, demonstrating its strong influence in the Japanese music market even before its release.
Since their official debut in Japan in March 2021, TREASURE has been on a steady upward trajectory, recording dazzling career highs. Last year, they were listed among the Best 3 New Artists at the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards, and this year they set a new record for the most audience members (approximately 300,000) at a K-pop artist’s first Japanese tour, which concluded successfully.
Meanwhile, TREASURE has completed their successful performances in Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Singapore. They will continue their tour with performances in Manila on April 14th and 15th, Macau on April 22nd, and Hong Kong on May 20th.
