TREASURE, U.S. Billboard’s “Hot Trending Songs” Takes No.1 Spot… Signs of Global Popularity
[OSEN=선미경 기자] Group TREASURE has proved its strong global presence in the U.S. Billboard chart with its new album.
According to the official U.S. Billboard website on the 8th (local time), TREASURE’s 2nd regular album ‘REBOOT’ track ‘B.O.M.B’ has taken the No.1 spot on the ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart. This marks the first time reaching the top since the chart’s inception in 2021.
‘Hot Trending Songs’ ranks songs, topics, and trends that are trending on Twitter, a global hub for music fans. Billboard explained, “‘B.O.M.B’ debuted at No.1 and is leading the pack, receiving fans’ love from the moment of release” and added that “it surpassed the previous best record of 2nd place set by last year’s ‘JIKJIN’ and ‘HELLO’.”
The achievement is notable as it has been won solely through the strength of TREASURE’s music, without special promotions. Their first mini-album track ‘DARARI’ released last year spontaneously gained popularity, reversing the major global charts such as Billboard and Spotify. ‘B.O.M.B’ continues to resonate with music fans worldwide, and expectations are high for its future trajectory.
In addition, TREASURE also made a mark on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S, Billboard Top Album Sales, and Latest Top Album Sales charts, hinting at a wide global fandom.
TREASURE’s 2nd regular album ‘REBOOT’ recorded high ranks in major regions including Asia, South America, and Europe on the iTunes album chart. The title song ‘BONA BONA’ topped the iTunes song chart in 20 countries, and the album, including domestic sales and exports to Asia and North America, recorded 1.71 million copies, reaching the top in the Circle Chart’s album section and entering the ranks of million-sellers.
Riding on this momentum, TREASURE plans to hold a massive Japanese fan meeting tour in five cities with 20 sessions. They will travel to Fukuoka, Hyogo Prefecture, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Tokyo. On November 12th, they will stage a grand finale at the Tokyo Dome, known as the ‘Stage of Dreams.’ TREASURE is the first K-pop artist to make its way to the Tokyo Dome with their first fan meeting tour.
