YG’s TREASURE Decides on Follow-Up Track ‘B.O.M.B’… Digital Release in September
[텐아시아=류예지 기자] Fueled by the enthusiastic response from global music fans, YG’s TREASURE has made a swift decision to promote their track ‘B.O.M.B’ from their 2nd regular album as a follow-up song.
YG Entertainment announced on the 1st that they will release the music video for ‘B.O.M.B’, a track from TREASURE’s 2nd regular album ‘REBOOT’, as well as a newly arranged version of the song, sometime this September.
Following this, TREASURE successfully wrapped up their music video shoot in Gyeonggi Province on the 30th and 31st of the previous month. Modifications are being made swiftly to some of the lyrics of ‘B.O.M.B’ and the arrangement of the accompaniment. It is anticipated that the modified version will have a different charm from the original, increasing the curiosity of global fans.
Despite it not being the official promotion track, such additional promotions are quite unusual. YG explained that this decision was made in response to fans’ requests for subsequent activities and their fervent support for ‘B.O.M.B’.
In reality, ‘B.O.M.B’, even without special promotions, is rapidly gaining popularity on various global platforms. The song topped the American Billboard ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart, reflecting its buzz on Twitter in categories such as trending songs, topics, and trends. On major music platforms like TikTok and YouTube, various dance challenges created by fans are spreading rapidly. Videos with related hashtags have surpassed 11 million views, indicating an increasing trend.
YG stated, “We have prepared a special gift so that our global fans can enjoy it even more” and added, “We are also preparing diverse content, including TREASURE’s dance challenge, that rivals music broadcast stages. We ask for much anticipation.”
‘B.O.M.B’ is a dance genre track, with members JUNKYU, YOSHI, and HARUTO participating in the lyric writing and composition. It is characterized by its dreamy lead sound and impactful string sound, and its cleverly expressed lyrics about falling in love have a strong addictive quality, receiving a great response among music fans.
Meanwhile, TREASURE’s 2nd regular album ‘REBOOT’ has charted high on iTunes album charts in major areas including Asia, South America, and Europe. The title track ‘BONA BONA’ topped the iTunes song charts in 20 countries and made an impressive entry into the Billboard Global (Billboard Global Excl. U.S) charts.
The album, including domestic sales and export volumes to Asia and North America, has recorded 1.71 million sales, making its mark as a million-seller on the Circle Chart’s album section. In Japan, it topped the Oricon weekly album chart and also achieved 1st place on Billboard Japan’s comprehensive album charts, ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Albums Sales’.
