YG Says “Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK to Personally Review Applications from the Initial Screening for ‘SPECIAL AUDITION’”
[뉴스엔=이민지 기자] YG Entertainment is further strengthening its efforts to discover global K-pop talent under the direct leadership of Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK.
On February 5, YG Entertainment posted ‘2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT’ on its official blog. Following the official poster announcing the audition, the company heightened interest by releasing videos showcasing the debut journeys of TREASURE and BABYMONSTER.
The video captures the members being selected as YG trainees and gradually growing into fully realized artists through systematic training and numerous evaluations. Toward the end, the artists are seen performing on concert stages amid fans’ thunderous cheers, drawing attention.
YG Entertainment has long led the K-pop wave by producing numerous artists who perform not only in Korea but on the global stage. Recently, the company has further strengthened its training system and significantly shortened the time required to debut, accelerating preparations for the launch of next-generation groups.
YG stated, “As suggested by the title ‘SPECIAL AUDITION,’ this audition has a major point of differentiation. Unlike previous auditions, Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK, driven by a strong determination to discover major rookies who will follow in the footsteps of BIGBANG and BLACKPINK, will personally take part starting from the document screening stage, which can be considered the first gateway of the audition.”
Meanwhile, applications for ‘2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT’ are open until February 28 via the YG audition website or the QR code included on the poster. Anyone born between 2007 and 2015 may apply regardless of gender or nationality. Applicants are required to choose one field they are most confident in, singing, rap, dance, visuals, or talent, and submit a video of up to one minute showcasing their potential.
