BABYMONSTER Says YANG HYUN SUK Advised Them to “Dance Deliciously”… Even Participated in Choreography Creation
[뉴스엔=황혜진 기자] Group BABYMONSTER expressed gratitude for the advice given by YANG HYUN SUK, Executive Producer of YG.
BABYMONSTER appeared as a guest on the May 11 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show.”
On May 4, BABYMONSTER released its third mini album, “CHOOM,” sweeping No. 1 spots on the iTunes Albums Chart in 19 regions as well as the Worldwide Albums Chart. The music video for the title track “CHOOM” immediately ranked as YouTube’s “Most Viewed Video in 24 Hours” upon release. Amid explosive momentum, the video is now on the verge of surpassing 65 million views.
The group has also confirmed its second world tour. BABYMONSTER plans to hold 27 shows across 18 cities worldwide for the “CHOOM” world tour. In particular, the group will achieve the milestone of entering a dome venue just two years and five months after debut through its concert at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome.
The world tour will kick off with concerts held from June 26 to 28 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. When DJ Park Myung-soo mentioned that the Seoul concerts had sold out, AHYEON responded, “Thank you, everyone.”
Asked when they heard the news about the Seoul shows selling out, RORA replied, “I think we heard a little later that the tickets sold out very quickly as soon as sales opened.” PHARITA smiled and said, “I felt so happy. It sold out much faster than the members expected.”
When Park Myung-soo commented that the members must feel more relaxed heading into the world tour since the Seoul concerts sold out early, ASA said, “We do feel lighter, but we still have to do our best to put on a great stage.” Park Myung-soo praised the group, saying, “It’s impressive that you sold out the concerts and are now taking over the world.”
Park Myung-soo then asked, “I heard Chairman Yang fully supported this comeback. In what ways did he support you?” RUKA responded by impersonating YANG HYUN SUK, saying, “Dance deliciously.” CHIQUITA recalled, “Whenever we practiced choreography, the Executive Producer would come and give us feedback every time. He even showed us choreography himself and personally created choreography as well.”
Park Myung-soo added, “Chairman Yang, the Executive Producer, is really passionate about those things because he comes from being one of Korea’s best dancers. Back in the day, when he danced, nobody could even stand next to him. He danced with huge movements. He’s truly an incredible dancer.”
