TREASURE’s ‘NEW WAV’… Real Hip-Hop Is Coming
[스포츠월드=정가영 기자] Group TREASURE is set to stir up a new wave with ‘NEW WAV.’
On May 23, YG Entertainment unveiled the visual photos for TREASURE’s 4th mini album, TREASURE – 4th MINI ALBUM [NEW WAV]. Following the individual member photos that highlighted each member’s unique presence, the group now comes together as a full unit, showcasing even more explosive energy. TREASURE displayed confident poses styled in a strong street-inspired mood.
Expectations are also rising for TREASURE’s bold concept transformation. Unlike the refreshing and natural mood of their previous releases, the group is putting forward raw and rugged energy this time. YG stated, “Please look forward to the new musical world they will build alongside their intensified hip-hop sensibility.”
‘NEW WAV’ will be released on June 1 at 6 PM. The album title literally means “a new wave,” while also serving as a play on the lossless audio format “WAV.” It reflects not only a new musical direction, but also TREASURE’s determination to open a second chapter with their unfiltered, authentic colors. The new album will contain four hip-hop-based tracks, expected to showcase their raw identity and a clearer sense of individuality.
In addition, TREASURE will kick off their fan concert tour starting on June 19. Beginning with performances in Seoul, the group will also meet fans across Japan through a total of 20 fan concert shows in Osaka, Kanagawa, Hyogo, Aichi, Fukui, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.
