Psy’s ‘Gymnastics by the Moonlight’ to attract biggest audience in shortest period this year
[스타뉴스 윤성열 기자] World star Psy, his real name Park Jae-sang, is expected to attract the biggest number of audience in the shortest period of time for his concert ‘Psy Concert All Night Stand 2013 – Gymnastics by the Moonlight’ that will be held in Seoul.
The upcoming concert of Psy will be held for 4 days from Dec 20 to 24, excluding the 23rd. On Christmas Even, Dec 24, he will be holding two concerts, making it a total of 5 concerts in the span of 4 days.
YG Entertainment said that Psy is the first artist to hold 5 concerts under one title at Seoul Olympics Gymnastics Park, which is an indoor stadium that can accommodate the largest number of audience in South Korea.
Psy will be joined by a total of 60,000 fans throughout his 5 concerts, gathering 2,000 for each of his concert. This is also the largest number audience for concerts held under the same title. Lee Mun-sae, a South Korean singer, had the highest record with 50,000 fans at Olympics Main Stadium.
The concert is arousing much attention already, as Psy has not performed in front of South Korean fans for a very long time.
According to Interpark, a ticketing website, the ticketing for Gymnastics in the Moonlight was opened on Nov 30 at noon, and it stands at the very top of ticketing ranking, taking up 2.2% of the total tickets annually (from Jan 1 to Dec 11). Lee Mun-sae’s ‘Dae.Han.Min.Guk (Republic of Korea) Lee Mun-sae’ and ‘Grand Mint Festival’ ranked #2 and #3 respectively.
Psy hinted that there will be a parody performance of Sunmi’s ’24 Hours’, and it was more than enough to excite the waiting fans. Related personnel of YG Entertainment commented, “All eyes are on Psy to see what he has prepared for the fans this time, with what kinds of theme and colors of his own.”
