2NE1 is Selected as One of “World’s 11 Girl Groups to Spotlight” by America’s Buzzfeed
[스포츠서울=이지석기자] America’s famous on-line news website “Buzzfeed” has selected 2NE1 as one of “World’s 11 girl groups to spotlight”.
Buzzfeed is world’s No.1 news service media that has the world’s highest number of visitors. Buzzfeed selected 11 girl groups to spotlight on March 31, and 2NE1 was selected as one of them, along with U.K’s girl group “Little Mix”, as the most famous and popular teams.
Buzzfeed said they recommend 2NE1’s music to people who prefer cross-over music that mixes EDM, rap, and R&D in a trendy way. It went on to say, “2NE1’s new album has shown high records in the United States in K-pop segment for the first week”, attracting a big attention. This refers to the fact that 2NE1 has set a new record for K-pop with its new album taking the 61st place on “Billboard 200”, Billboard’s album chart.
Plus, it recommended “COME BACK HOME”, the title track of 2NE1’s second full-length album “CRUSH”, “I’M THE BEST”, and “LONELY”, while complimenting 2NE1 by saying, “2NE1 members are talented dancers, they have incredible music videos, and each one of them has unique colors”.
2NE1 has recorded No.1 in Korean music-streaming website Melon’s “TOP20” chart for five consecutive weeks and taken top places in “ARTIST TOP20” for five weeks in a row, too, proving their high popularity. Furthermore, their second full-length album has been recognized for its global potential, coming under the spotlight of leading overseas media outlets such as Billboard and FUSE TV.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 continue to actively perform in Korea and meet Chinese fans on April 11 at Shanghai concert of their world tour.
