AKMU, “Topping music charts seems astounding… Excited”
[OSEN=권지영 기자] The sibling duo AKDONG MUSICIAN (AKMU) expressed how they feel just before their debut performance.
Just before their debut performance scheduled for Mnet’s music program M Countdown on April 10, AKMU told OSEN, “We only performed on stage of K-Pop Star, and performing on a totally new stage makes us nervous.”
They added, “The debut performance is very exciting, but since we released a lot of songs up to this point, it feels like we are making a comeback instead.”
About knocking down all charts and lining up the lists with their songs, they commented, “We are thankful that the fans are responding more enthusiastically to the album than we expected. It was astounding to see our album’s green color lined up on music charts.”
When asked what they would do if they rank #1 on music programs, they said, “We never thought about it yet. If our name is listed as a nominee, we would do one dance move,” making people laugh.
AKMU successfully knocked down all real-time domestic music charts and lined up their songs on many lists immediately after the release of the new album “PLAY” at noon on April 7. Their debut is made more dynamic when they topped iTunes in 5 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore.
