WINNER’s “Empty” Remains at the Top of Charts … Long-running Popularity
[OSEN=선미경 기자] YG’s new boy group WINNER proved their popularity by remaining No. 1 on the chart despite the new songs that are pouring in.
As of 7a.m. on the 26th, WINNER’s title track “empty” from their debut album “2014 S/S” stood at the top on three major real-time charts including Melon―Korea’s largest music website,―Genie and Bugs. The title is in the top range in most other charts as well.
WINNER’s new track swept across the charts immediately after its release. After a week at the top of the chart, the track briefly gave its place to another new song before immediately returning to the top once again. Their popularity shows no sign of abating.
They are expected to keep rolling with their title “empty,” which seized three trophies in just week on Mnet’s M Countdown, KBS 2TV’s Music Bank and SBS’s Inkigayo.
“empty” is a rap/hip hop music about the emptiness that comes after a breakup, jointly produced by Team B’s B.I and BOBBY who competed against WINNER, and written by SONG MIN HO.
