YANG HYUN SUK’s Confidence… WINNER Already “Debuted” vs. iKON “To Debut” (Interview②)
[TV리포트=김예나 기자] WINNER who began from WIN’s Team A and iKON who began from WIN’s Team B. WINNER who made debut in 2014 dominated music charts and No.1 in music shows. Plus, iKON is working hard to make debut in 2015. Their producer YANG HYUN SUK said he is confident that “WINNER and iKON are totally different groups”.
After TAEYANG’s solo concert on the 12 this month, YANG explained to TV Report, “WINNER and iKON are totally different groups. WINNER is not sticking to one specific genre, and iKON will be focus on hip-hop. So, you may feel that iKON’s color is stronger than WINNER’s”.
“WINNER and iKON have different characters, so I’m not worried. First of all, the two groups pursue totally different directions, so even if they perform in the same period, their characters will not overlap. WINNER will perform different genres without any limitation, and iKON will draw colorful pictures within the framework of hip-hop”.
YANG HYUN SUK highlighted about WINNER who has recently finished their Japan tour, “I didn’t make WINNER go up to just a certain level. WINNER has just begun. WINNER is not a group targeted just for the domestic market. They are not a group to exist within a limit, either. What they have shown us so far is even less than one tenth of what they got. They have just released one album. WINNER has a lot of things to do”.
Plus, YANG showed a satisfactory smile over iKON, saying, “Now they are appearing in a survival audition program. I know that many people have high expectations for the team, starting from the days when they were WIN Team B. I think they are doing well centering around former WIN Team B members. In fact, I myself do not know how far iKON can go. I expect that they will show everything they got in the framework of hip-hop”.
