Final Member of iKON Unveiled Tonight on MIX & MATCH
[OSEN=김사라 기자] The final member to join YG Entertainment’s new boy group iKON will be unveiled tonight (Nov 6) in the last episode of Mnet’s MIX & MATCH at 11 pm.
In the survival audition MIX & MATCH, a program to form a new group consisting of 7 members, 9 contestants have been partaking in fierce battles. Among them, three, B.I, BOBBY and KIM JINHWAN are already fixed members, and to fill in the 4 empty spots, 6 members have devoted everything for the battles.
Through the official blog, YG announced at 0 hour of Nov 4, 5, 6 the three members who passed: KOO JUNHOE, SONG YUNHYEONG and JUNG CHANWOO. In the final episode to be aired on Nov 6, the final member will be announced.
At the time of the announcement, the large number of people accessing YG blog made the server go down. Each portal sites had YG LIFE, iKON, KOO JUNHOE, SONG YUNHYEONG, JUNG CHANWOO as the most searched words. Now KIM DONGHYUK, JUNG JINHYEONG and YANG HONGSEOK are left.
At the age of 17, KIM DONGHYUK already proved his dancing and singing talents as the member of Team B on “WHO IS NEXT: WIN”, while also showcasing his talents in playing musical instruments like the piano and drums.
After the first free-match on episode 4, YANG HYUN SUK commented that KIM DONGHYUK “improved significantly after the program WIN ended. His confidence is as high as BOBBY’s and he enjoys being on stage. His improvement is incredible.” In the 8th episode’s final match, DONGHYUK showcased TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” in his own way, receiving compliments from the original singer.
JUNG JINHYEONG is also 17, and when he met the members for the first time in the 1st episode, he said, “Becoming a singer has always been my dream and I like playing musical instruments.” With a handsome face and a charming voice, he sang Jason Derulo’s “Marry Me” when he became one of the members to be dropped out. His singing charmed the judges for sure.
YANG HONGSEOK, aged 20, was the latest to join the battle. With a handsome face he has already garnered much popularity from female fans. He solidified his presence at the Beijing fan meeting by introducing himself in Chinese.
The final member to join YG’s newest boy group will be unveiled tonight on the program, and as the count-down clock goes up at 6pm on YG’s official blog, fans are becoming more and more excited.
iKON will carry on the reputation of YG’s boy group, and will be opening BIGBANG’s Japan’s 5 Largest Dome Tour that starts on Nov 15 and 16 in Nagoya.
