In Mnet’s rapper survival show “Show Me the Money 4”, SONG MIN HO repeatedly emphasizes his identity as rapper SONG MIN HO, not a member of an idol group who is preparing for their debut at large music label YG. Even though SONG consistently tries to keep distance from YG, his connection with YG gets more and more outstanding. So, the public’s sarcastic remark that “The winner will be SONG MIN HO anyway” is agreed by many people.
SONG MIN HO who drew a big attention from his very first appearance in the show is still standing under a big spotlight now, when “Show Me the Money 4” is coming closer to its final match. While SONG’s competition with Black Nut got fiercer and fiercer as the show went on, SONG has silently been proving his talent in the show.
SONG is a smart rapper. He highlights his own name “SONG MIN HO” in “Show Me the Money 4”, but at the same time, he cleverly uses the shadow of YG behind him. He is someone between an idol singer who cannot shake of his title as an YG artist and an attractive and talented rapper, somewhere between underground music scene and fancy stage for an idol singer. Black Nut’s words of recognition for SONG that were said when he was beat by SONG also showed such mixed feelings.
