iKON’s Next Single Will Surely be Your Type[iKON is here again ①]
[OSEN=정준화 기자] iKON is set to capture the hearts of fans again. And their weapons this time are a slow R&B song about a breakup and a powerful hiphop song. Just as they have taken the charts by storm with “MY TYPE”, “RHYTHM TA” and “AIRPLANE”, their new singles will sweep the charts again. It is D-1 until the release of their new singles.
It is only natural that expectations are mounting. The quality of the singles iKON has released so far and their charts results show that it won’t be very much different this time around. On top of this, YG’s top producer TEDDY participated in making the new singles. iKON’s rappers B.I and BOBBY, who proved their talent by winning Mnet’s Show Me The Money 3, will also be releasing a duet song as a unit group. They are certainly worth watching out for.

iKON made a sensational debut with the release of their warm-up single “MY TYPE” on September 15 and their debut half album “WELCOME BACK” on October 1. Their original plan was to release a “full album” on November 2. But they made a big change to their plans. They have decided to release two digital singles and MVs on November 16 and the full album on December 14.
Because of this change of plans, fans have to wait longer but their expectations are mounting. Some are even welcoming the delay. Because the release of the full album was put off until December, iKON will be releasing two digital singles and their MVs first to make up for the delay. The teaser posters of iKON members for their new single created a big sensation. The high quality teaser posters have enthralled the fans.
The two singles that are scheduled to be released on November 16 is “APOLOGY” and “ANTHEM”. “APOLOGY” is a slow R&B song expressing the pain and sorrow of an unwanted breakup. B.I and BOBBY participated in writing the lyrics. YG’s top producer TEDDY and KUSH participated in writing the song’s music, lyrics and in its arrangement.
“ANTHEM” is the subtitle song and a duet song for B.I and BOBBY. TEDDY, B.I, and BOBBY collaborated to make the song. B.I and BOBBY is wittingly compared to other well-known perfect duos such as “Seo Tae Woong and Kang Baek Ho”, “Young Gu and Thaeng Chil E”, “beer and fried chicken” and “Leslie Cheung and Chow Yun-fat” in the lyrics of the powerful hiphop song “ANTHEM”.
YG artists have topped the monthly charts for five months over the last ten months. It will be interesting to see what will happen in November and December with PSY making a comeback on December 1 and iKON releasing new singles on November 16 and their full album on December 14.
