[Issue IS] SECHSKIES’s Clock, which Stopped 16 Years Ago, Set to Tick Again

[일간스포츠=이미현 기자] With only two days to go until SECHSKIES’s comeback, YG released the last teaser, which features EUN JIWON. Now, SECHSKIES is all set to restart its journey in 16 years.

On November 29, YG Entertainment released a teaser video of “COUPLE”, one of the three title tracks of SECHSKIES’s “2016 Re-ALBUM”, on its official blog and Naver V App.  

Earlier on, teaser videos featuring KANG SUNGHOON, LEE JAIJIN, JANG SUWON, and KIM JAEDUCK were released. With the release the last teaser featuring EUN JIWON, SECHSKIES’s clock is ready to tick again after a 16-year break. 

In the teaser video for “COUPLE”, EUN JIWON and a woman stand on the opposite side of a bridge that is covered with snow. Then, he holds her hand, and they walk away together. The next scene features EUN JIWON looking at the camera with mesmerizing eyes. 

It is said that YG made a new music video for “COUPLE” and that it captures the beautiful winter sceneries of Sapporo, Japan. 

SECHSKIES’s new album has three title tracks: “COUPLE”, “CHIVALRY”, and “HEARTBREAK”. Fans are wondering which song will be chosen as the main title track. 

Sources at YG said, “Mr. Yang and SECHSKIES members talked about this and came up with an interesting idea: that is to go on music shows with the most popular song. This means that choosing the main title track is up to the fans.” 

SECHSKIES’s comeback is a combination of the past and the future. As shown in the name of the album, ten songs out of SECHSKIES’s past hit songs were chosen and reborn into 2016 style. YG producers rearranged the songs in a more hip style. The members had to record the songs again, and the songs had to go through the whole mixing and mastering process again. 

SECHKIES was disbanded 16 years ago, but the group reunited this year. Upon reunion, detailed plans about SECHSKIES’s comeback were made. SECHSKIES held a solo concert and released a new single. Then, the group put a lot of work into making the new music video. Thanks to YG support, expectations are running high for SECHSKIES’s new album. 

Now the last teaser has been released. Only thing left is to see SECHSKIES’s comeback. Fans are looking forward to listening to SECHSKIES’s new album, which will surely bring back wonderful memories.
