iKON Sweeps the Japanese Music Scene and Becomes No.1 on Oricon’s Weekly Albums Chart

[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] iKON is sweeping the charts in Japan by taking the No.1 spot on Oricon’s Daily Chart and its Weekly Albums Chart.

On August 22, iKON’s Japan EP titled “NEW KIDS: BEGIN” entered Oricon’s Albums Chart at No.1. This is even more meaningful as it is the first time that iKON’s album, and not it’s single, became No.1 on the Oricon charts.

iKON released a new EP on August 16. The EP became No.1 on Oricon’s Daily Chart, proving the group’s popularity in Japan. The “NEW KIDS: BEGIN” album was released in Korea in May, and its title tracks are “BLING BLING” and “B-DAY”.

Oricon is considered as one of the top three music charts in the world along with the US’s Billboard and the UK’s UK Charts. iKON’s album showing phenomenal results on Oricon charts as the group is currently on its longest and biggest tour in Japan.  

iKON will be doing additional concerts for its ”iKON JAPAN DOME TOUR 2017” from September. The group will be holding 22 concerts in eight cities and meet 232,000 fans.

In addition, a live DVD and Blu-ray of iKON”s Kyocera Dome concert on September 27 will be released. It will contain rehearsal videos and documentaries as well as iKON’s concert and will be a big present for iKON fans. 

Currenlty, iKON is doing active promotions both in Korea and Japan. B.I and SONG are to appear on OnStyle’s Get It Beauty 2017 and SBS’s Law of the Jungle-Fiji, respectively, and expectations are running high.
