According to Youtube on December 13, BLACKPINK’s hit single, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ was ranked at number 1 as the most-loved K-Pop video in the world. The official music video for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ currently has 198,250,000 views, and is about to surpass 200 million views.

BLACKPINK proved themselves as a ‘new-record machine’ once again through YouTube, the most objective indicator of popularity and recognition overseas.

On September 2017, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ was chosen as U.S Billboard’s ‘Top 25 Songs of YouTube’ among summer hits, displaying the group’s dominant presence.

At the time of the announcement, BLACKPINK was among top artists including Luis Fonsi, who surpassed 3 billion views on YouTube for the first time in history, and Ed Sheeran, who secured his position at Billboard’s TOP10 Single Chart for the longest time in history.

Among many top musicians representing different countries in the world, BLACKPINK was the only Korean artist.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK became the first girl group to have 4 music videos (‘WHISTLE’, ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’, and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’) with over 100 million views within a year since debut. It’s a record that has not been broken ever since.

Also, they secured the no. 1 spot on the iTunes chart in 18 different countries for the first time as a K-Pop girl group, while their debut singles ‘BOOMBAYAH’ and ‘WHISTLE’ took the first and second place on the ‘World Digital Song Chart’, which was also a first-ever record for a rookie girl group. They managed to get 3 consecutive songs to the top spot on the Billboard chart with following singles ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, setting a milestone on K-Pop history.

BLACKPINK, with various records in and out of Korea, is currently planning to make comeback in the K-Pop scene on January next year.
