JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ Tops Worldwide Song Chart… ‘First Time’ as a Female Korean Solo Artist
[스포츠조선=조윤선 기자] JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a female Korean solo artist.
JENNIE’s digital single ‘SOLO’ released on the 12th at 6 PM topped 8 Korean real-time music charts, achieving an ‘all-kill’ status, topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries, and eventually made it to no. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song Top 200 Chart.
She topped the according chart for the first time as a female Korean solo artist. She achieved her no. 1 spot amongst global Pop stars including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries including Argentina, Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Philippines, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, UAE, and Vietnam, proving the global interest towards JENNIE.
The MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassed 10 million views in 15 hours since its release and is currently increasing at a rapid pace.
‘SOLO’ is a song in a Hip-Hop genre with elements of Pop music. JENNIE expressed being a confident solo with direct and sincere lyrics added on top of beautiful chords and a simple melody line. The song was written and composed by TEDDY who worked on all songs released by BLACKPINK ever since debut, while producer 24 also participated in composing the track to add more completion.
