TREASURE’s ‘BOY’ MV Reaches 10M Views in 26 Hours… To Make Debut on ‘Inkigayo’ Today(9th)
[OSEN=지민경 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE proved the heated attention on the group through numbers. They topped major foreign music charts as soon as they made debut, while their MV for ‘BOY’ has already surpassed 10M views.
TREASURE’s ‘BOY’ MV surpassed 10M views on August 8 at 8 PM, in 26 hours since the video was released to the public. TREASURE’s official YouTube channel subscribers also increased by 290 thousand in 2 days after they made debut, adding up to a total of 1.67M subscribers. The figures prove the global attention toward the group.
TREASURE is YG’s major rookie group being announced in 4 years since BLACKPINK. Composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN, the group is receiving attention as the biggest rookies of K-Pop in 2020 and has made debut in the global music scene with their debut album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ on the 7th.
As they are a group formed to target the global market, they’ve achieved successful results on overseas charts as soon as the album was released. Their debut single title song ‘BOY’ topped iTunes Song charts in 19 different countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.

The local press showed anticipation towards TREASURE’s global activities by writing, “TREASURE is YG’s monster rookies that will follow BLACKPINK” and that “TREASURE’s debut is successful. We look forward to their future activities”.
In fact, China is the country with the highest pre-order volume of TREASURE’s debut album, and the song also topped music charts in China as well. The song successfully entered 5 representative charts of QQ Music, China’s biggest music platform, and reached no. 1 on the Top Rising Chart, proving their popularity even before officially entering the local market.
TREASURE’s debut song ‘BOY’ is a song with impressive beats and a catchy dance break drop which make the listeners feel the music with their bodies. The lyrics state a boy’s pure yet passionate love as he rushes toward an attraction, which he feels for the first time of his life, contrasting with the dynamically transforming track.
