BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ MV Surpasses 100M Views… 46M YouTube Subscribers

BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘Ice Cream’ surpassed 100M views on YouTube in 1.5 days. As a result, BLACKPINK now has 21 videos with over 100M views.
On August 30, YG Entertainment revealed, “BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘Ice Cream’ surpassed 100M YouTube views on the 30th, as of 5:56 AM. The record was achieved in 40 hours and 56 minutes since its release on the 28th at 1 PM. It is the second fastest pace among all MVs released by BLACKPINK, following ‘How You Like That’(32 hours)”.
‘Ice Cream’ is a Pop genre song with a simple rhythm and exciting sounds. The MV grabbed the hearts of global music fans with its cute and fresh concept, presented by BLACKPINK for the first time.
BLACKPINK’s charms were known as their fierce performance and girl crush, based on Hip-hop music. ‘Ice Cream’ is BLACKPINK’s new challenge and became proof of the group’s broad music spectrum.
In fact, BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel is gathering subscribers at a fast pace. The number of subscribers increased by 100 thousand every hour on the date of the ‘Ice Cream’ MV release and is currently at over 46M. Due to their popularity, BLACKPINK has become the 3rd most subscribed artist in the world following Justin Bieber and DJ Marshmello.
BLACKPINK is also performing well on various global charts. ‘Ice Cream’ became no. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song chart, on the date of its release. The song is ranked at 2~3 on iTunes Top Song charts of the US and UK, the countries with major Pop markets. Furthermore, the song is ranked at no. 4 and no. 5 on the Global Top 50 and US Top 50 charts of Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform.
‘Ice Cream’ also won 3 titles on the Digital Album·New Releases·MV charts of QQ Music, which is China’s biggest music platform. The song also dominated weekly charts(Digital Albums Category) of Kugou and Kuwo Music in one day.
