According to YG Entertainment, ROSÉ’s first-ever solo single album ‘R’ has surpassed 400 thousand pre-orders on March 8, in 3 days after pre-orders became available for the fans. It is the biggest female solo artist record in the history of K-Pop.
The figure adds orders from the entire globe. Pre-orders for ‘R’ were not only made in Korea, but also in China, Southeast Asia, the US, Japan, and Europe. Since there is still time until the official release of ‘R’, the order volume is expected to increase. The people are paying keen attention to the milestone to be set by ROSÉ’s solo album ‘R’.
It seems that ROSÉ’s global presence and strong fandom power made an impact on her setting the pre-order record. In fact, BLACKPINK, the group ROSÉ is part of, is the artist with the biggest number of YouTube subscribers(58.1M) in the world.
BLACKPINK also set a new K-Pop girl group history in album sales. Their first official album ‘THE ALBUM’ has reached 1M in pre-orders and surpassed a total of 1.25M in accumulated sales, becoming the first-ever girl group to be certified million by Gaon Charts.

The teaser clip for ‘Gone’, the sub-title track from her upcoming solo album, is heading towards 50M views despite being a short 33-second clip, after its release back in January. Furthermore, ROSÉ was ranked at no. 1 on the Worldwide Trending Rankings with her MV teaser clip for ‘On The Ground’, the title track of her solo single album ‘R’.
