According to OSEN’s investigation on the 26th, Executive Producer Yang has finalized his attendance at the “2025 MAMA AWARDS,” to be held November 28–29 at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium. The last time Yang Hyun-suk appeared at the “MAMA Awards” was in 2014. At that time, group WINNER received the Rookie of the Year award and expressed heartfelt thanks, saying, “We are grateful to President Yang Hyun-suk, who has always believed in and supported us,” creating a warm, emotional moment.
Behind Yang Hyun-suk’s “on-site return” after 11 years are YG’s next-generation performance lines, BABYMONSTER and TREASURE. A senior music industry official told OSEN, “Executive Producer Yang decided to attend this year’s ‘MAMA Awards’ to personally support and encourage the two teams’ performances.”
BABYMONSTER has emerged this year as a “stage master” group, rapidly expanding its global fandom, while TREASURE has been solidifying its status as a “performance boy group” amid a successful tour in the second half of the year.
In particular, this year’s “MAMA Awards” announced an official collaboration with the Netflix sensation K-POP Demon Hunters, and the protagonists are BABYMONSTER members. Through the WONDER STAGE, BABYMONSTER’s PHARITA, AHYEON, and RORA have been confirmed as the artists who will realistically re-create scenes and narrative elements from the film. A massive performance targeting the group’s soaring global buzz, especially their standout vocal prowess, is heightening expectations.
Meanwhile, since Yang Hyun-suk officially returned as executive producer in 2023, YG has rapidly shifted direction at a critical turning point.
