AKMU knocks down weekly chart with 6 songs from “PLAY”
[뉴스웨이=문용성] AKDONG MUSICIAN’s (AKMU) debut album “PLAY” is showing incredible power by dominating weekly music charts immediately after its release.
On the April’s 2nd weekly chart (April 7 to 13) of Genie (www.genie.co.kr), a music site operated by KT Music, the double title songs “200%” (rank #1) and “MELTED” (rank #3) from AKMU’s debut album [PLAY] released on April 7 showed an unbeatable power by ranking at the top of the chart. Their debut is without doubt sensational.
Other tracks like “GIVE LOVE” ranks #4, while “ON THE SUBWAY” #6, “ARTIFICIAL GRASS” #7, and “LITTLE STAR” #10. The sibling duo proved their musical power by listing whopping 6 songs within the top 10 of the weekly chart.
Popularity for AKMU began to grow last year when they won SBS’s audition program K-Pop Star Season 2, and still continues to build up as they unveil more of their writing witty lyrics and composing talents with such naivety.
On the lists are also HIGH4 and IU’s “Not Spring, Love or Cherry Blossoms” at #2, Yoon Minsoo and Shin Yongjae’s “Fate” at #5, Park Hyo Shin’s “Wild Flower” at #8 and APink’s “Mr. Chu” at #9.
