TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” tops Karaoke chart 7 consecutive weeks

[OSEN=김사라 기자] BIGBANG’s TAEYANG topped the weekly karaoke chart on Gaon for 7 weeks in a row on August 21 with his latest song “EYES, NOSE, LIPS.”
TAEYANG’s song once again ranked #1 in the 3rd week of August (Aug 10-16) on Gaon’s chart. Since topping the chart for the first time between June 29 and July 5, he has been maintaining his position for 7 weeks in a row.
TAEYANG, writing the song himself, released it on June 2. It is a slow R&B that highlights his vocal talents, which steers away from the original performance-oriented side of him.
The song that received high praises for keeping the performance simple yet underlining his sentimental voice is still the “it” song in the music world after 2 months of release. The ranking on this particular chart is meaningful as it means the song is positioned as being loved by the general public at karaoke.
On August 12 and 13, TAEYANG kicked off his first Japan solo tour titled “SOL JAPAN TOUR ‘RISE’ 2014,” and released Japan’s debut album “RISE + SOLAR & HOT.” He became the runner-up on Oricon daily ranking on the day of its release, and also ranked #2 on the weekly chart.
Meanwhile, he is to continue on with the Japan solo tour that will attract 70,000 to the 13 performances he will showcase across 6 cities, starting from Osaka.
