[People IS] iKON vs. iKON… It seems there is no competitor for them from the very debut
[일간스포츠=황미현 기자] iKON who was proven to be the “perfect type” for fans with their debut song “MY TYPE” has unveiled the title of their double title tracks, making the music scene nervous.
On the 24 at 9am, YG Entertainment unveiled the title of all the six songs included in iKON’s first album, on the company’s official blog.
The poster says that iKON will perform for double title tracks: “RHYTHM TA” and “AIRPLANE”.
It is highly likely that iKON’s only rival will be iKON themselves, while they perform for the double title tracks. iKON has already recorded a long-rum on music charts with “MY TYPE, which is a very exceptional case for a rookie group. That made music industry insiders speculate that iKON’s double title tracks may take the No.1 and No.2 on charts.
iKON members fully took part in the producing of the half album, writing the melody and lyrics of all the songs on their own. B.I took part in writing the melody and lyrics of all the songs, and BOBBY participated in the lyrics of all the songs. JU-NE is also a co-composer of “RHYTHM TA”.
The reason why group BIGBANG is still the most popular idol boy group until now when they celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut is because the members including G-DRAGON write the melody and lyrics of their own songs. That shows how it is important for musicians to write their own melody and lyrics to find out the color that best-fits their music.
iKON is showing a talent differentiated from other idol groups, by producing their own album from the very debut. As “MY TYPE” created sensation, the double title tracks are also expected to dominate music charts.
iKON’s debut half album “WELCOME BACK” with six tracks will be released on-line on October 1 at 0 o’clock and off-line on October 5. Plus, on November 2, debut full album “WELCOME BACK” will be released. iKON will also hold debut concert “SHOWTIME” at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall in Seoul on October 3, to meet fans who have been aspiring for iKON’s debut so far.
