[Music Talk Talk] Expectations Running High for ONE, YG’s First Male Solo Singer in 14 Years
[OSEN=김은애 기자] It’s the first time in 14 years that a male solo singer will be debuting from YG. He has the looks and the talent, and now he is ready to begin his solo career thanks to the help of YANG HYUN SUK.
The K-pop scene these days is all about idol groups, and it’s hard to find solo singers. However, ONE will debut on July 11 and bring something new to the table.
Expectations are running high for ONE, as he is YG’s first male solo singer in 14 years. YG has produced top idol groups such as BIGBANG, WINNER, iKON, and BLACKPINK, and some members of these groups released solo albums that became a big hit. G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and BOBBY’s solo songs were hugely popular in and out of Korea.
YG’s last solo male singer was SE7EN, who debuted in 2003. He gained recognition for his great singing and dancing skills and gained huge popularity. Now, it’s ONE’s turn to debut as YG’s first male solo singer in 14 years.
Already, ONE received spotlight for his looks and unique talent when he appeared in season 4 and 5 of Show Me The Money. At that time, participants of the show said, “Even a guy has to admit that he is good-looking.”
His attractive voice and sophisticated rapping style was praised by the judges. He also has a sweet personality, which made more girls fall in love with him.
For the past two years, ONE has been honing his skills in YG. YANG HYUN SUK has provided full support as ONE is YG’s first male solo singer in 14 years. YANG HYUN SUK himself coached ONE to write the music and lyrics of songs.
YANG HYUN SUK has an eye for talent, and he has world famous album producing skills. Fans trust that albums made by YG will be good.
Teasers of ONE’s debut were released on June 26 and 27, and they have been getting a phenomenal response. The teasers show different sides of ONE: him as a pretty boy, a rebel, and a cute boyfriend. He became more gorgeous than when he was on Show Me The Money.
