[Music Talk Talk] SECHSKIES releases fifth full album after 18 years of absence today (Sep. 21)… Filled with “all new songs”
[OSEN=선미경 기자] Group SECHSKIES is coming back with the release of their fifth full album today (September 21).
SECHSKIES is releasing their fifth full album “ANOTHER LIGHT” on September 21 at 6PM. The album has a significant meaning, as it if SECHSKIES’ first full album in 18 years since their fourth album “Com’ Back” released in 1999. SECHSKIES has released new songs and remade hit songs since their reunion last year, but no full album.
SECHSKIES’ new full album is drawing keen attention, as it is a full album filled with “all new songs”. SECHSKIES has proven their continuous popularity with new songs “THREE WORDS”, “SAD SONG”, and “BE WELL” released in last year and this year. As such, music fans are anticipating that SECHKIES’ new album filled with new songs will fully reveal the potential of SECHSKIES as a first-generation idol singer once again.
The lyrics of the album’s title track “SOMETHING SPECIAL” were written by Kang Wook-jin and LIØN who have written many songs of YG so far and the melody of the song was written by Kang Wook-jin, Diggy, and LIØN. It is an exciting pop song that can be enjoyed by anyone. Its cheerful and light sound and warm lyrics talking about the beloved one leave a deep impression.
SECHSKIES asked for people’s interest in the song by saying, “It is a special song just as the title shows, which is perfect for our fifth album released in the 20th anniversary of our debut. It talks about a story of lovers and in terms of the genre, it is a new trial that goes beyond the existing color of SECHSKIES music. You’ll like it more and more when you listen to it”.
“SMILE”, the other of the double title tracks of the new album, is a slow song in which SECHSKIES members’ new appeals and outstanding vocal catch the ears. KANG SUNGHOON explained, “Its lyrics that talk about a desperate heart of wanting a beloved one to smile for me will touch everyone’s heart. Anyone could resonate with the feelings of the song”.
As it is the first full album of SECHSKIES in 18 years, EUN JI WON who has recently signed an exclusive contract with YG took part in the work for the album more actively than ever before. The comeback of SECHSKIES is drawing keen attention, as it is expected to prove the team’s still-formidable influence as a first-generation idol group. SECHSKIES will hold a concert on September 23 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, after the release of the new album.
