Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” MV exceed 100 million views… Already tenth MV to surpass 100 million views for Big Bang
[OSEN=정지원 기자] Singer Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” music video made a record of exceeding 100 million views.
At 8 a.m. on October 8, Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” music video reached 100,000,603 hits on YouTube, proving his unfading popularity.
”Eyes, Nose, Lips” is the title track of “Rise,” Taeyang’s second official album released in 2014. What is impressive is his strong, appealing voice as he sings about how much one misses his ex-lover.
Rather than a fancy set, the music video displays Taeyang’s well-toned upper body, harmonized with his voice. This simplicity, allowing viewers to be fully immersed in the song, is why so many love the music video.
When Taeyang released “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” the song not only ranked top for five consecutive weeks on the Gaon Chart, but also carried off the first prize in many awards ceremonies that year, including the grand prize for music at the Golden Disk Awards and the Song of the Year at MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards). He had opened his fabled era as a solo artist, in addition to his activities as a member of Big Bang.
With this, Big Bang now has 10 music videos that surpasses 100 million views, including “Fantastic Baby,” “Bang Bang Bang,” “Loser,” “Bad Boy,” “Fxxk It,” “Let’s Not Fall in Love,” “Blue,” G-Dragon and Taeyang’s “Good Boy,” and G-Dragon’s “Crooked.” Among Korean singers, the group once again renewed the record for the highest number of songs over 100 million hits.
Since Taeyang released his new album “White Night” in August, he reconfirmed himself as a world star by his exceptional presence. The album not only ranked No. 1 in key domestic music charts, but also positioned itself first place in 26 iTunes countries overseas and for two consecutive weeks in Billboard’s World Albums Chart. Currently, Taeyang is on a world tour meeting with his fans around the globe.
