YG TREASURE Presents Dynamic Performance+Overwhelming Group Dance
[뉴스엔=박아름 기자] After having their first terrestrial music broadcast debut, YG TREASURE revealed the performance video of their debut title song, ‘BOY’.
On August 10 at 9 AM, the dance practice video of TREASURE’s debut title song, ‘BOY’, was uploaded on YG’s official blog and TREASURE’s YouTube channel.
The revealed video showed TREASURE grabbing the eyes and ears of global fans through the fierce beat of ‘BOY’ and their dynamic performance.
The 12 members of TREASURE filled up the training space, completing an overwhelming group dance. The performance they’ve presented as if they were exploding at the dance break drop made the viewers bounce to the rhythm.
The members of TREASURE chose the chorus performance of ‘BOY’ as the point move of the song. The motions of wrapping around the heart with two arms and spreading them out again expresses the lyrics, ‘Open your heart’ in a direct yet sophisticated way. The motion of making a pistol sign and spreading it out on beat during the ‘Be my be my be my girl’ part is easy and catchy, which impresses its viewers.
The performance of ‘BOY’ was created by world-famous choreographers including Sienna Lalau, Kinjaz, Scott Forsyth, and choreographers of YG’s own dance team, HITECH.
Meanwhile, TREASURE had their first music broadcast debut on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on August 9th. On TREASURE’s performance full of ‘teen crush’ charms and energy, the global fans responded with passion and enthusiasm.
After the broadcast, the viewers praised the group by reviewing, “The live doesn’t feel like it’s being performed by rookies”, “YG’s rookies on another level”, “They will walk the flower road”, and “It’s a hit. We now have a proper group”.
TREASURE is YG’s major rookie group being announced in 4 years since BLACKPINK. Composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN, the group is receiving attention as the biggest rookies of K-Pop in 2020 since they’ve targeted the global market from the start.
TREASURE’s title song ‘BOY’ from their first debut album titled ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’, released on August 7th, topped iTunes Song charts in 19 different countries. The song also topped Japan’s Line Music Top 100 Real-time chart, Rakuten Music’s Real-time Comprehensive Rankings, and AWA’s Rising Chart. Furthermore, the song was placed on the top ranks of 5 different charts on QQ Music, China’s biggest music platform, and was ranked at no. 1 on the Top Rising chart.
The reactions on the MV for ‘BOY’ are also heated. The video surpassed 10M views in 26 hours since its release and is steadily rising. TREASURE’s official YouTube channel subscribers also increased by 300 thousand after their debut, adding up to a total of 1.72M at the moment.
