YG TREASURE’s Official Debut Album at No. 1 on Album Sales in Korea and Japan→’THE FIRST STEP’ Series Expected to Surpass 1M in Sales
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE dominated music charts in and out of Korea in a day since the release of their album, going on a popularity run.
According to the Albums Top 100 chart of Line Music, Japan’s biggest music platform, TREASURE’s official debut album ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’ was ranked at no. 1 on the real-time album sales on the date of its release(12th). It maintained its position on the top ranks and entered the daily chart as no. 2, making the people look forward to its upcoming success.
TREASURE’s album was also ranked at no. 1 on the real-time accumulated sales announced by Hanteo Charts in Korea. As a result, TREASURE set a new record of being ranked at no. 1 on the Albums Category of Hanteo Charts through all 3 single albums and their full-length album released since debut.
The digital album, released a day prior to the physical album, is also popular. The album achieved remarkable results in Japan. Many songs from the album are being loved, despite TREASURE being a K-Pop group who are yet to make official debut locally.
In fact, the title track ‘MY TREASURE’ was ranked at no. 1 on the Real-time Comprehensive Rankings of Rakuten Music on the 12th and 13th. ‘GOING CRAZY’, the signal song of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, has topped the according chart on the 11th.
Not only the title track ‘MY TREASURE’, which topped iTunes charts in 18 different countries, but also songs ‘Be with me’ and ‘GOING CRAZY’ achieved successful results on various global charts, showing TREASURE’s global presence despite being a rookie group who made debut only 6 months ago.
With TREASURE’s global popularity, their album sales became a matter of interest. It is because ‘THE FIRST STEP’ series is about to surpass 1M in total accumulated sales.
The pre-orders for their official debut album have almost reached 250 thousand. Since TREASURE marked a total of 720 thousand in sales for the 3 single albums they’ve released, they are expected to reach a total of 1M in sales without hassle.
TREASURE is and has been active under YG’s fast·concentrated strategy. After releasing new songs almost every month after making debut last year on August 7, they’ve already released their official debut album, proving their presence as the well-prepared rookie group.
