[헤럴드POP=조은미 기자] BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ MV surpassed 600M views. It is BLACKPINK’s 10th video to surpass 600M views, which is the biggest record in K-Pop girl group history.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ MV has surpassed 600M views on YouTube as of yesterday at 8 PM. The record was achieved in approximately 320 days since its release last year on August 28. It took less than a year to achieve 600M views with the global fans’ continuous love and support.
BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ is a song collaborated with global Pop star Selena Gomez. It was a cute and fresh concept attempted by BLACKPINK for the first time and was a song in Pop genre with simple rhythm and exciting sounds, which gathered the public’s attention.
In fact, the song was ranked at no. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart at the time of its release, renewing the group’s own best K-Pop girl group record. It also successfully charted-in on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for 8 consecutive weeks, proving their global presence. These milestones were achieved without promotional activities due to the pandemic, but through music and MV only.
BLACKPINK has a total of 29 videos with over 100M views on YouTube.
