[Exclusive] The producer for SECHSKIES’s new song is TABLO… Recording the first new song in 16 years
[문화일보=안진용 기자] First-generation idol boy group SECHSKIES who is coming back after 16 years of absence from the music scene is collaborating with TABLO, one of the leading producers of YG Entertainment (“YG”).
SECHSKIES completed recording of their new song on August 30, at YG studio in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul. The song is known to have been written by group EPIK HIGH’s leader TABLO. TABLO is also the head of YG’s another label HIGHGRND. He wrote the “tailor-made” new song for SECHSKIES who is coming back after 16 years of hiatus in their career.
An YG insider said, “TABLO is working as the producer for SECHSKIES’ new song. He directed the recording of the song on August 30. SECHSKIES members showed big enthusiasm for the recording of the new song”.
SECHSKIES is also working again with songwriter Park Geun-tae who wrote “The Way This Guy Lives”, the song that marked the beginning of the glory days of SECHSKIES. Songs written by not only Park Geun-tae but also other YG producers will be all recorded in different styles, and the title track for SECHSKIES’ new album will be selected out of them.
The new song of SECHSKIES will be unveiled at the concert to be held on September 10 and 11 at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. More than 20,000 tickets for the concert have long been sold out. That shows how much SECHSKIES’ fans now in their 30s and 40s who had spent their teenage years and time in 20s with SECHSKIES are longing for the team’s comeback.
The concert’s organizer YG added, “We’re receiving tons of inquiries for additional ticket sale. We ourselves are surprised by the bigger-than-expected interest in the concert”.
