YG Internal System Improvements Become Reality… BABYMONSTER Makes ‘Lightning-Fast Comeback’ in About a Month

[OSEN=최이정 기자] Group BABYMONSTER is carrying the momentum of its 3rd mini album straight into an ultra-fast comeback.
According to YG Entertainment on the 26th, BABYMONSTER will officially release its new digital single “SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA” on June 8 at midnight.
This marks a lightning-fast comeback coming just about a month after promotions for the group’s 3rd mini album [CHOOM] released on May 4. It demonstrates that YG’s promise to dramatically improve its internal systems in order to support more active promotions for its artists and shorten album production timelines is becoming a reality.
YG Entertainment kick-started full-scale promotions by surprise-releasing the teaser poster for the new single through its official blog.
The unveiled poster leaves a powerful impression with eye-catching neon green colors layered over a street-style mood background. The boldly engraved typography further hints at the strong confidence behind the new musical world BABYMONSTER is set to present.
In particular, the full title of the new track, “SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA,” which Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK had previously teased and sparked curiosity about, was finally revealed. The combination of SUGAR, HONEY, and ICE TEA intuitively evokes sweet yet refreshing energy, drawing enthusiastic responses from global fans.
YG stated, “As you can tell from the title ‘SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA,’ this will be BABYMONSTER’s signature ‘summer song’ that will blow away this summer’s heat,” adding, “Not only are we preparing promotions for the new track, but we are also working on a music video for a track from the 3rd mini album [CHOOM]. We plan to fully pack this summer together with our fans, so please look forward to it.”
Alongside news of the ultra-fast comeback, BABYMONSTER also unveiled the schedule for its second world tour on an even larger scale. Starting in Seoul, the group will hold a total of 27 performances across 18 cities, including six cities in Japan (Kobe, Fukuoka, Yokohama, Chiba, Nagoya, Osaka), eight cities in Asia (Manila, Macau, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong), and three cities in Oceania (Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney).
